Goals
Swimming is an individual as well as a team sport. By joining the swim team, it is our hope that your swimmer will learn the importance of self-improvement through hard work and determination as well as team spirit and unity.
Team Goals
- Learn independence and safety in the water
- Learn stroke basics and age appropriate techniques
- Gain an understanding of competition and swim meet procedure
- Create new friendships and bond as a team

Age Group Goals
6 & Under
- Establish a working knowledge of:
- Lane etiquette
- Head and body position in freestyle and backstroke
- Breathing technique
- Streamline starts
- Breakouts underwater
- Finishes
- Limit lane rope usage
7 & 8 Year Olds
- Establish a working knowledge of:
- Head and body position for all strokes
- Breathing technique
- Diving starts
- Breaststroke
- Butterfly
- Establish an understanding of:
- Lane etiquette
- Streamline starts
- I.M. Order
- Finishes
- Minimal lane rope usage
9 & 10 Year Olds
- Establish a working knowledge of:
- How drills and practices carry over to races
- Establish an understanding of:
- Head and body position for all strokes
- I.M. turns and breakouts
- Proper starts and finishes
- Ability to kick in streamline for at least 50 yards
- Ability to swim at least 200 yards without lane rope assistance
11 & Up
- Establish a working knowledge of:
- How drills and practices carry over to races
- Establish an understanding of:
- Head and body position for all strokes
- I.M. turns and breakouts
- Proper starts and finishes
- Ability to kick in streamline for at least 100 yards
- Ability to swim at least 300 yards without lane rope assistance
